More than just a floating shelf
Mmh Furniture floating shelves are designed to be a step above the ordinary.
The integrated side panels add practicality by providing a more secure method of fixing the shelf to the wall and helping to prevent items from falling off the edges. They also allow the shelf to be fixed more securely to the wall than a conventional floating shelf.

More than just a floating shelf
The mmh shelf takes a different approach from most floating shelves. Each end panel contains two concealed fixing points, allowing the shelf to be secured to the wall at four points, spread both across its width and vertically, or just the two upper fixings for lighter duty loads.
This greater vertical spacing helps the fixings resist the forces created when weight is placed on the shelf, providing greater stability in everyday use while retaining the clean appearance of a floating shelf.
Each shelf is machined with precise keyhole slots in the rear of the side panels, so it can hang securely from two or four screws while maintaining a clean, floating appearance.
The shelf itself is made from strong, stable birch plywood, chosen for its durability and suitability for furniture construction. The exposed plywood edges are left visible as part of the design. The shelves are finished with beeswax and are available with the end panels painted in a range of standard colours.
These shelves combine refined design with everyday functionality, making them a practical and characterful addition to any space.

Sustainability
I use only materials that are locally sourced or from FSC Certified sources. All of my furniture is built to be repairable and refinish-able in case of any future mishaps or to tidy up the patina which his gained over time. I believe furniture should be used and not cosseted, having the knowledge that furniture can be revived after the knocks, bangs and scrapes of life will hopefully ensure my furniture is used as intended.
Inspiration
My furniture is inspired by nature, modernism, mid-century and contemporary design and built with traditional Arts and Crafts Movement values of craftsmanship and elegance.
